Damn, the one I am now the caretaker of is in this article!  This might be the kick I needed to get in gear and get mine painted and in the air.

I would guess it was Chuck Hosack's.  He is in our EAA chapter and has built quite a few planes including a couple of Avids.

Yes, that amphib was my first home built. It was interesting to see the article again. I had lost my copy of the article years ago. The picture was taken on Beluga Lake near where Coal Creek empties into the lake.

Really interesting article, thanks for sharing. Who knew the 1st Catalina was built as a Landfib, and yikes, 3200hr build time. Man I thought I was slow!
