High Sierra Fly in trip report

Last weekend was yet another epic trip to the Nevada desert for the High Sierra Fly-in. The dry lake bed is located about 50 miles NE of Reno in the middle of no where. I left on Wednesday morning with my Powered Parachute in the back in of my Toy Hauler. 5 hours later I was on the playa and had the place pretty much to myself. Flew every morning except for Saturday. It blew pretty hard all day on Saturday. High Sierra is a place where you can see everything from ultralights to not 1 but 2 AN-2's....a Pilatus PC-24 landing off airport.... a N3N blowing smoke everywhere. The entire event is unreal and for me rivals Oshkosh. Highly Highly recommend you make the time to attend even if you fly out commercial.

On another note my 912 is now in the capable hands of Hal Stockman for its refresh and zipper kit install. My new MK4 will be a beast with 105HP.

Hey Joey,

Thanks for the pictures.  That looks like quite an event, I hope I can make it some time.  I am getting closer to a plane number 2 to leave at the home place in Oregon.  Will then just have to clear some trees to make an approach to the field for a runway.  It may put me within flying distance of that event.
