Flying Kentucky Wounded Heroes

Every year our EAA chapter takes the folks from this group that come up and play in AK.  This year we were blessed to have good weather and the wind shifted and kept the smoke from all the wild fires away from where we were taking them.

It was truly an honor to fly these folks around and show them a little piece of the state up close and personal.  We had 13 planes show up from as far away as Fairbanks to help fly these guys.

We took a break for some snacks and to stretch our legs on the south end of Kaligin Island and one of the pilots flew his aerobatic routine for them.  What a way to enjoy a beautiful fall day.  I was fortunate that work let me fly in for the day to help fly these guys around.

I'd shake your hand but my arm isn't long enough. Hat's off to you and your group!

That is great Leni!  I'm glad you got a little relief from the smoke as well so they could at least see some of the beautiful scenery too. Hats off to all you guys!
