Classic WW2 training airfield in Stanton Mn

This is my favorite airfield to visit in my Avid Flyer. It is the historic Stanton airport in Stanton Mn. It was originally a WWII training facility operated by Carleton College to train pilots for the war effort. It is now owned by a group of aviation enthusiasts.

It is rare in the fact that it is a privately owned, public airport with a grass airstrip. It has both a North-South and East-West runway. Of course the Avid loves the grass!

I feel fortunate to have such a jem close by and thought I would share it. If you're flying through the area on the way to Oshkosh it is worth a stop.
