Thanks Allen, it is hard to do cause i can c the work ahead of me, but its airplanes not cars and bikes, so lots of energy there for me, and the look in my dads face when he c’s his plane all destroyed, he almost cried, (my dad DON’T do that) i know i have cried, many times and the desire to c it completely rebuilt the way ive always wanted to b since he bought it 27+ yrs ago, so with all that, the help and guidence of my friends HERE and the ones that stop by my shop to visit,  Ill Get Her Done,  and “Fiona” will fly again soon. Shootin for mid next summer. Or less. Hahahhahaaaaa

I got the 30/60 black diamond black slag media yesturday to sandblast today, just havin coffee till sun comes out and warms it up, 28 degrees this am,  Ill post some pic later on.
THANKS EVERYONE FOR THE HELP AND GUIDENCE ON THIS PROJECT,  ILL NEED IT!!!!

Well got the sandblasting done, took me 2hrs 15min and 12bags of black diamond 30/60 black slag media. Had a few quotes for people intown to do it, anywhere from $450 to $900+materials, to $1300. Cant belive the price spread, cost me $350 in materials. Also picked up the epoxy primer and white paint another $403, so at $753.00, super good if u ask me. Hahahahahaaaaa

Pretty good.  It's a lot of work sandblasting the fuselage.  I did my Kitfox 4.   Had a fair amount of trouble getting the sandblaster to work, so that didn't help.  Keep going you'll get there!  JImChuk

Been there, done that, got the T-shirt and coffee mug. And still got media in certain body parts! Somehow it finds its way into every crack (literally) and crevice there is even with a full body suit.

I paid someone to blast the Spacewalker II I scratch built years ago but I painted it myself.  Uhhh. I hate painting tubes. Two coats of epoxy primer and two coats of blood-red urethane took me over 5 hours. Did I mention painting tube's sucks? ;)

Yea the sandblastin went fast but still no fun! And today i put two coats of green epoxy primer on it, took 3hrs. In sick of paintin tubes ill tell u, and stull have to paint it white.  But think i got it all. Will take a look in the am to know for sure. Had to run meet a guy to buy a set of 26” Ak Bushwheels. Great score, pays to check CL and Ak List every am with my coffe and morning chew of Redman. Hahhaaaaaa

Looks like you are priming as you go. Are you mixing epoxy primer and using a gun, or just using a rattle can? Just trying to figure how I'm going to do inevitable touch ups for added stuff.

Im useing the Napa/Martin senior self etching primer. Part#7220, in a rattle can, they sell it both ways, rattle can or to mix.  AWESOME stuff been useing it for yrs with awesome results. About $11.50 a can now, been buying it since it was $4.50 a can. Hahhaaaa

Well i got the Xbrace above pilots head, and the Cathedral ceiling in the airframe yesturday just need to prime it, next ill move to the wolf window and the seaplane door.

Ok Buck, I have to ask, what is a wolf window.  I must not be the only one wondering.

I'm guessing that is one that will open so you shoot out of, back when it was great sport to shoot wolves from planes.  Just a guess though.  JImChuk

U remove the sliding two piece window on the left side, build a window frame that hinges at the top with a piano hinge so it opens gulwing style. Like hingeing the seaplane door on the right side.
