Well started to divert the creek with the D9 yesturday, its runnin straight down the valley on 4’to 5’ of ice and the ice is 12” above the bottom of shop wall so had 4” of water running thro the shop. And started diggin the cars and plane out.  Cant pull the cars out they froze into the ice also so hope the sum will cook on them for a day or two.  Headed over this afternoon to go thro the pa12 and pa18 stuff. Ill take a few pic of that and post them later.

Well started rounding up parts for the pa12 re-rebuild hahahaaaaa.  Have a nice fuse now that has all the same pa18 updates it did have plus a few more for gross weight increase, larger bagage than did have, some extra stiffners, the wings have the alerons moved out the the end and extended flaps like originaly had.  And picked up a nice stock set of wingstruts yesturday.  Ended up with a TON of pa12-18 parts in the connex i picked up in Kenny Lake (gear, rims, struts, ribs, extra fuse, interior panels, exterior panels, flaps, alerons, tail feather, sea plane doors, nose bowls, cowls, and on and on and on)  so if anyone looking for parts for them.

Its starting to get uncovered of the snow, i figured since mother nature helped mess up the plane, id have her do some of the work to help get it off the plane.  Hahahaaaa. But amazing how much weight it is.  Also me and my son Carter took a walk Around the cut up on the hill to c how its melting and start the D9 to help contain the water, ice, mud here while things melt. There is 2 of my D9’s, the 980 loader, Boom of dragline, and 2 excavators in the pic.  U can c where one D9 is up high, and back of one down low, guves u an idea of how much dirt i still have to move.

That is a sad sight for sure.  I copied a few of the pictures, and when I'm down south in the winter and am worried about the roof on my hangar, I'll send the pictures to my flying partner and tell him that half of his plane is under that roof also.  JImChuk

Yea ive done my cryin of course, now im actually excited to start the re-rebuild. Hahhaaaa course that wont b till after mining season,  just started moving dirt on the hill yesturday, and there was things i wanted to do different on the 12 when i was doing the fabric, but as its dads plane i didnt do it, he was happy with how it was, soooo now i get to really have some fun updating things on it to make it more user friendly and cleaner lines hope she will b a beautiful bird.  Just not sure what colors/stripes this time.

Got the 24’ haulmark cleaned out so once road dries up enough to drag it up with my pu ill start taking it apart and store it in there till winter. But still takin my replacement fuselodge to Charlie Centers in Wasilla b4 long to have him check it all over for me in his jig, mayb i b lucky enough to have him c if the jig i have is worthy or not also.

I see that there is a PA 12 fuselage and 3 spars on barnstormers for $2800.  In Oregon or Washington.  JImChuk

Thanks Jim, looks like i already have the fuse and wings for the rebuild in that 40’ connex from Kenny Lake. But that sounds like a good deal if its in good shape.

I was always amazed at how much damage water causes but I'm definitely moving snow and snow load higher on my list of concerns. Those toys were trashed. Was kinda miffed with all the building regulations and added cost for truss engineering requirements when I built my little garage shop but your pictures drive home the importance. Glad no one was in there at the time!
