Posted 18 Jun 2020 sure but it is a 2 blade wood prop i can't pitch giving 6200 static, the firstl one was only 5000 rpm static, do i try it in air? Is it a fixed blade prop or ground adjustable? If it's adjustable, I would add some more pitch. 1300 is scary if the gauge is accurate. The sounds of silence was a great song in the 60s, not so great in the air... JImChukfixed, but i wonder why in static full throttle at 6200 i was below max temp, and in take of, i went over for few minutes..may be the reason was the engine did not flew for several years, will check that seriuslythx
Posted 18 Jun 2020 richen the mixture Being as how it is a fixed pitch prop, that would be another way to lower the EGTs also. If the engine only turned 6200 on the ground, but went to 6600 in the air, then the prop is unloading, (not working as hard) Load on a prop makes a big difference on EGTs on a two stroke engine. Actually mixture and load are what control EGTs. JImChuk
