  1. Going to start scratch building speed wings soon, for my fat airframe.

Current thoughts are avid speed wing airfoil, 12 inch rib spacing,.083 spars @ 12 foot, 7/8 inch lift struts. Essentially longer aerobat wings.

For current speed wing/aerobat pilots, are there any modifications you would have liked?

Different airfoils, kitfox? just aircraft? Longer / shorter spars? Slats? Speed brakes? Anything come to mind? I'm scratch building so anything goes!

  2. I found this info on the www.avidflyeraircraft.com site. Here is the original link http://www.avidflyeraircraft.com/avidblog/?page_id=23. I'm not sure if the site is maintained anymore, and I thought it might be worth keeping around. Also, not sure who to credit. Here is the info I copied and pasted  for future reference:

  3. It's a safe bet that most of the answers to this question can be found in various pieces throughout this forum in past topics.  But it is laborious to sift through it all to find an accurate understanding of what the differences are.  Are Fat and Plus the same plane?  How does the Airdale differ from the Pursang?  Does anyone know what the dimensions are and if the Magnum wings will attach seamlessly to any/all of the mentioned fuses.  What I'm looking for is something with tri-gear, folding wing, and gross weight capability of the Magnum but with a more accessible/open cargo area.

    Thanks, Dave.
