Had i known you were that familiar with the magnum I wouldn't have gone into such detail lol. However I do appreciate your effort in helping me out.
This is my first Avid or Kitfox, but i assume I will still be able to use the mixer I have if i can convert the bellcrank to function properly? Do you see any issues i might run into?

Yes, I believe so. Here is a better picure of the bellcrank. Either way i need something to work, this just doesnt seem the easy way to go. This is why im looking for the original parts. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Hey Chris, the simple answer is clearance. The current setup has interference issues. What i have seems to be from a kitfox which has the elevator push rod down the center of the fuselage, whereas the magnum runs that push rod down the left side of the frame. Not to mention the controls I have are not mounted to the factory locations and other mounting holes have been drilled to accommodate. You can see in the pictures the bosses with the wire running through, that is where the elevator push-pull tube goes. The other picture shows how someone tried to run what i currently have, with the tube in the center. Not only does the stick run out of aft elevator because of the bungee support tube, but the linkage for the elevator does not clear as well. I hope that all makes sense.

In search of a Bellcrank and controls to fit a Magnum
It seems as though my Magnum project has the incorrect bellcrank/mixer and isn't going to work as intended. Does anyone have a set they are selling? I am also willing to fabricate myself but I would need to get my hands on a set somehow to get dimensions unless someone has plans. I'd appreciate any help on this, thank you

    Magnum Mixer control
I have been looking over the manual and searching for posts related to my problem and just can't come up with the answer. In the pictures below I'm trying to show how the right stick interferes with the fuselage. This is the rear most position I can get out of it. Everything I have seen (including the manual I have) does not look like this. Even the mount for the bungees seem to be different. If anyone can help point me in the right direction to get this corrected, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

After doing some more searching I have found others with this same profile, and they have called it the speedwing. I will be visiting Kitfox in just over a week and will talk to them then, but in the meantime, I will call Just Aircraft tomorrow. Thanks for the help

Thanks Jim, I have a feeling I'll be looking to you quite a bit as I see you are very active and knowledgeable. I indeed plan on building new but my concern is just what you mentioned. The .065" spars are for 1550 gross, I'm looking to take advantage of the higher gross of the Magnum. Are the .065" rated to 1550 gross with or without the stiffeners? I have a Magnum manual, but it doesn't have specifics, or at least what I am looking for. All I know is that the magnum ran .083" spars for a gross of 1,750. I'll have to look again, but I believe it shows wood stiffeners as well. Is there a vendor that currently sells 12' sticks of .083" tube? What about going to .125" wall since that is readily available? Thank you

    Help identifying ribs
Newbie here, with a ton of questions and don't really know where to begin. I have just acquired a new to me Magnum project. Well, just a couple set of wings at the moment. I have spent a lot of time reading through the forum and have came to a few conclusions, but I need help. Both sets of wings are no good as they sit and need to be rebuilt. Starting with just 1 set for now, I have questions and concerns.
    1. The shape of the ribs don't seem right, they are not flat and definitely not an under camber as you can tell in the pics
    2. With the "convex" shape, the jury strut mounts and lift strut mount are essentially flush with the fabric
    3. At 108" the spars are extended (very poor construction), The front spar extension is installed fairly straight, but the rear spar angles several degrees downward and has about a 1 1/2" drop over the last 2'. I did not capture this to show you but it is very twisted at the end and I have never seen anything like it.
My first and most important question is can these reasonably be rebuilt? I know that is a generic question, but that is the question I am after. These wings started life I believe as HH's because the wall thickness is .083" and rib placement is 12" apart. What concerns me is the 108" length where the splice begins. Can I cut there and rebuilt past that point? I have called around trying to find .083" tube and all I can find is .065" and .125". Next is the rib, the general consensus I am reading is that the under camber design is more desirable? The second set of wings I have do seem to have the correct rib profile, but the spars are .065" with 18" spacing.
I can either laser cut or CNC new ribs, as I have all the equipment to do this and more. I think the easiest and best bet would be to start with new spars, but I cannot find .083" wall material. I've even thought about just stepping up to .125" which was an increase of about 6lbs per wing if I remember correctly. I know this is a big can of worms, but I needed to start somewhere and introduce myself so I figured why not this way. I'm really excited to go down this very frustrating and painful road so be easy on me to start! Thoughts?
