Interesting i was unaware of the Bully Hawk kit from Ronnie Smith in Mississippi. I went down there and took the rotax repairman course with Ronnie.

Zipper or Edge big bore kit?
I read more reports about the Zipper kit than the Edge kit. Is one better than the other? I read that the zipper kits tend to have a higher oil consumption. Can anyone share experience with both?

I'm waiting on a wing extension kit i paid for at the beginning of last month. He said there would be a few weeks lead time. Not a great communicator, I sent a few other emails inquiring purchase of other parts and never received a reply. Hope all is well.

    Apex wiring
Do you need to buy a wire harness? Can you use a GRT eis? or would it be worth getting one of these? http://bdturnkeyengines.com/yamaha-apex

When I read about header fabrication some keep all the pipes the same length, Rotax and others don't seem to worry about this with the 912. Any thought why? Vetterman and other do it and keep it under the cowling. Is the juice worth the squeeze?

The 582 is purring and flying season is here. I start planning the swap every time i look at the 912. I still need a exhaust system. Maybe i can modify the dual can pusher setup it come with. I have a rotax suspension ring to build from but i don't want to start until i remove the 582 and mount and use them to build the fixture. Im hoping for minimum modification to the cowling. Man its hard to take apart a flying airplane......I know once i get her open this mod will spread like wild fire, new firewall, panel update, ect.. and I have the wing extension kit coming soon also. I guess not flying now is better than freezing my can off huddled in front of a torpedo heater this winter. Like any junkie would say one more flight and i will start.

    Lexan for widscreen and doors
What thickness are you using for the windscreen and doors? I would like to replace mine. Has anyone tried to form skylights for additional head room?

Sorry if this is a dumb question but do you need two or does this add to the ignition system like the factory soft start?

I just had a 912 shipped from AZ to IL. $220 using Old Dominion freight Shipping. Just used a small pallet and built wood sides and top for it.

  20. aschlem added a post in a topic Tube diamerter for 912 mount

For me it would be quicker to machine the sockets rather than fabricate all the parts and weld them together, My only thought is then trying to weld the thin wall tubing to the thicker billet. Maybe not an issue for a more seasoned welder.

  23. aschlem added a post in a topic Tube diamerter for 912 mount

The mounts are what i have been asking about. Not the rubber or washers.  I only mention them becuase i need to make the part they nest in. Sorry for the confusion im fabing the firewall side of the mount. im trying to figure out the Mounts the arrows point to, not the pieces in the leaf diagram. Thanks for the help, sorry if i asked the wrong questions.

I have the parts in the Leaf diagram, i need to attach them to the firewall. Im trying to build the other half of the engine mount. specifically the parts the arrows are pointing to. do the #6 washers get welded inside the cups?
